October 22, 2017, Concert #1

Under the direction of our Music Director Mark V. Deal, come listen to the sounds of the National Concert Band of America performing a program entitled “Have Band Will Travel!”  Selections include:

  • “Dunkirk March” arranged by Fritz Velke
  • “Variations on a Korean Folk Song” by John Barnes Chance
  •  Selections from “South Pacific” by Richard Rogers {arranged by E. Leidzen}
  • “Berlin Luft March” by Paul Lincke {arranged by Martin Tousignant}
  • “George Washington Bridge” by William Schuman
  • “Cuban Overture” by George Gershwin {arranged by Mark Rogers}
  • “Savannah River Holiday” by Ron Nelson

It’s our pride and privilege to recognize and thank those veterans of the Armed Forces and their families at the conclusion of every performance with our rendition of Bob Lowden’s “Armed Forces Salute”, followed by our signature song “This Is My Country”.

Our concert is Sunday, October 22, 2017 at 3:00 PM at Carl Sandburg Middle School, Alexandria, VA

Sunday, December 10th, 2017 “A Star Wars Holiday”

Sunday, March 11th, 2018 “Wind Band Classics”

Sunday, May 6th, 2018 “Americana”

All concerts are at 3:00 PM and there is no charge of admission (however, donations are always welcome!)

The National Concert Band of America has immediate vacancies for well-qualified musicians on the following instruments:

  • Bb Clarinet (all parts)
  • Bass Clarinet
  • Trumpet
  • French Horn
  • Euphonium
  • Tuba
  • Percussion

Some instruments have vacancies for Principal players.

Rehearsals are Monday evenings in the Northern Virginia area. The NCBA performs 4 subscription season concerts plus 5-6 summer “Pops” style concerts between Memorial Day and mid-July.
