March 2017 Concert – “To Cry”

Under the direction of our Music Director Mark V. Deal, listen to the sounds of the National Concert Band playing songs meant to make you cry tears of joy and patriotism. Our program:

  • Lincoln Portrait – Aaron Copland (arranged by Walter Beeler)
  • The Great Little Army March – Kenneth Alfred
  • In Memoriam; an Elegy to the Fallen – Alfred Reed
  • October – Eric Whitacre
  • U.S Field Artillery March – John P. Sousa (arranged by M.L. Lake

In every National Concert Band of America performance we close our program with a Salute to all Military Veterans, past, present and future with Bob Lowden’s arrangement of “Armed Forces Salute” followed by our “signature” song – “This Is My Country!”

Our concert is Sunday, March 26, 2017 at 3 PM at Carl Sandburg Middle School in Fort Hunt, Virginia (8428 Fort Hunt Rd, Alexandria, VA 22308).  Tickets can be purchased here or at the door (General Admission $10, Military and Seniors $5, under 18 free with paid Adult).

The National Concert Band of America has immediate vacancies for well-qualified musicians on the following instruments:

Tuba                                                                Percussion

Some instruments have vacancies for Principal players.

Rehearsals are Monday evenings in the Northern Virginia area. The NCBA performs 5 subscription season concerts plus 3-5 summer “Pops” style concerts between Memorial Day and mid-July.
